The motivation to make a change is the most important quality to make a change. One can see that motivation is important in the animal rights movement when people spend time and money to help innocent animals.Motivation was important in their work because it gave them the passion to make a change. One can see motivation in the Anti-Apartheid movement when people are ready to sacrifice their lives for the better good. it was important in their work because it kept them going to make their lives better. Stephanie said, “ When i watched ‘ Meet your meat’...
I told myself that i wouldn't hurt animals like that”. This shows that the film motivated her to get involved in animal rights. The reason that this quality is needed in many situations is that people have to believe in what they want to do, and when they believe they have the passion to fight.

The most important strategy that was used in a social movement was gaining allies. The Anti-Apartheid movement gained a lot of allies and international support over the period of fighting for rights. Over the time a lot of people all over the world knew about the apartheid and that it had to stop. As a result people all over the world started to protest and boycott in order to end the apartheid. The Animal Rights movement also gained allies and international support. They have made posters and used the web to spread the word or get more help and volunteers. Stephanie said, “... A lot of success in facebook, this video Hundreds of thousands of people watched it”. This shows that spreading a word and gaining allies is a very common strategy that is used in a social movement. This strategy helped many activists make a change and succeed with their social movement.

From the two social movements a person can learn that there is always an opponent and an ally. in the Anti-Apartheid movement the main conflict was inequality. As a result the opponent was the white government that had most of the power, and they had allies, the people that believed that there should be equality.Just like in the Anti-Apartheid, the Animal Rights had allies and opponents. Their main opponents are the farms. Farms that treat animals unfairly. They also have allies, people who believe that the way animals are treated is wrong and are ready to waste money and time.
